Finding Aids for Archival Collections
A finding aid is a detailed description of an archival collection. It enables you to find a letter, diary, or other document involving a specific person—items that may be part of a collection you didn't know about or may not have thought to search. The Montana Historical Society finding aids are hosted on the Archives West site. When you conduct a search at right, you will be taken to the results for our finding aids.
Please note that a few of our archival collections are stored at an offsite storage facility. These collections require 48 hours’ notice to retrieve.
