Original 13th Amendment Repository

In 2023, the Montana State Legislature passed House Joint Resolution 9 (or HJ 9), declaring that documents relating to the original 13th Amendment and states' ratification and consideration of the amendment are records of permanent value worthy of preservation. The resolution also posited that the Montana Historical Society should create a repository for the preservation of these records.
