SOCIETY CELEBRATES AFFILIATION WITH SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION
In February, the Montana Historical Society became an official affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. Officials from the Smithsonian came to the Society to welcome it to their national organization. It provides great professional and academic resources for the Society, traveling exhibits and programs, as well as special benefits to our members. The Society held weeklong events to celebrate the new affiliation with events ranging from Dutch oven baking to Native American games to black history to historic barns. Now when you join us, you can join the Smithsonian as well. Their officials said they will get as much from our great organization as we will get from them. We are a little bit proud!
